There's a game store in Nanuet NY, Hobbytown. Every Thursday they have a game night at the store, starting at 7:30PM or so and going until late in the evening. I've known about the game night for a few weeks, but I've been immersed in my health problems and haven't been able to go.

I've been a rune-reader for a long time. In 1999, as a result of a contribution to the Goddess Brigid during an Imbolc ceremony, I started wearing a Wunjo necklace, which I'd made myself.

Niceness

Something nice happened to me today: [livejournal.com profile] mage_imbroglio called, to ask for some computer advice.

Medical issues have dominated my life the past week, and will probably continue to do so for at least the next week. Lately I've been doing little but sitting at home and watching TV.

That one call was a ray of light in an otherwise gloomy time. Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] mage_imbroglio!

For anyone who follows my overly-melodramatic stories about my health:

After a single day of rest, I feel fine. This in itself is a blessing; when I catch a bad cold, it normally knocks me out for five days. Only a day of nasty symptoms is so unusual for me, I can't remember the last time it occurred.

So I'm fine. Stop worrying. Go out there and change the world. Or at least the bed sheets.

I had just started walking to lunch today (yay, exercise!) when I started coughing. This was no minor cough. It was a five-minute coughing fit with lots of disgusting side symptoms.

I inched my way back to my car and drove to get lunch. At this moment my chest feels sore, but I'm not sure if it's due to all the coughing or something else.

Where's the blessing? Simple: I've got a three-day weekend with absolutely nothing scheduled. If I had to get sick, this is the weekend to do it. I've got plenty of soup and tea at home. I can focus on resting and getting well.

There are many people who don't have this luxury. For what I have, I give much thanks.

And I haven't forgotten the obligation of those who have: to share something with those who haven't. But not this weekend.

It's been about six weeks since I last posted about how Isaac Bonewits is doing.

Please bear in mind, as I discuss his health, circumstances, and requests, that in all good conscience I can only put forward those things that Phaedra has already made public, or for which I've received specific permission from Isaac to share. This is a hard time for the family, and I wish to give them control over their privacy.

I saw Isaac last night. Right now, for him to be awake or aware is to be in pain, so he spends a lot of time asleep or mentally drifting.

I'm one of Isaac's friends, but I am not his primary care-giver; his wife Phaedra is. If you'd like up-to-date information on Isaac's condition and requests for additional healing work, I suggest looking at the Facebook page they've put up:

http://www.facebook.com/isaac.phaedra.bonewits

Again, if you live within convenient traveling distance from Valley Cottage NY, there is an important and valuable contribution you can make that even supersedes the magical workings. Please contact Phae for more information.

I saw Isaac Bonewits in the hospital today. His surgery was successful, in the sense that it re-configured his intestinal tract in the planned way. But otherwise, he looked more miserable than I've seen him so far during this process.
